A suit of armour
stands alone
on a crowded street
many gilded faces
adorn its shining helm
cracks abound
rust creeps
up and in
from its extremities
as well as
a tear
a diamond droplet
falls inside
landing
next to the shriveled
effective corpse
of a child
of a small boy
frozen in fear
of danger that passed
many years past
Synthetic tears,
Fall from your eyes;
Bathing the ground in fake sadness,
A double sided knife thrust down.
My arms embrace you,
My attempt at comfort, at healing;
But instead I fall, wounded at your feet,
Slain by your lies, my empathy.
In a world so callous,
Where people only care for themselves;
Empathy and compassion are treacherous,
For they can get you killed.
My trust is to be earned,
But my love is given to help;
Taken by this society and weaponized,
Used to cut my thread of life and silence me.

His voice was deep
Like a distant roll
of ancient thunder
A low rumble
that no one could hear
it had already faded
and disappeared
